Not to be difficult. Not to slow things down. Her biggest order to date used 5,000 of them. It took two weeks to produce. They are tedious to work with in a way that I have tremendous respect for, and her clients will tell you they are absolutely, one hundred percent worth it.
This is the part where I point out that you could technically try to DIY a balloon installation for your wedding. You could also technically cut your own hair the night before. Both are possible. Both produce results that make professionals quietly wince. Latia and I joke about this because we operate the same way... solo, detail-obsessed, doing work that people initially look at and think, how hard can it be? The answer is always: harder than it looks, and that’s why you call someone who has spent years perfecting it.

Latia will not sell you a package. I asked her about this directly, and she was very clear: she refuses to operate that way. Every installation she creates is built specifically for that event, that client, that vision, and that space.

Okay, I have to tell you about the phone booth.
Latia has a vintage British phone booth. In storage. Waiting for the right wedding.
Her vision is to use it as a guest book station, a fully styled photo moment where guests step up, sign in, and walk away with a memory. I heard this and immediately started imagining the possibilities, and I cannot wait for the couple who gets to say yes to this first.
Her other big dream is doing wedding photo booth backdrops where guests genuinely forget that there’s a dance floor nearby. She wants to create an installation so visually captivating, so perfectly styled for the couple, that people just keep cycling back to take one more photo. Backdrops start at $500, which is a genuinely accessible entry point for a design element that will show up in every single photo your photographer takes that evening.
And then there’s what I’m calling the most exciting thing in her pipeline right now: flower balloons. Smaller balloons nested inside larger ones to create a petal-like effect, balloons that look, unmistakably, like flowers. She was up at four in the morning the week we talked, working on perfecting the technique. She’s not offering them yet because she won’t put something out until it’s exactly right. That’s Latia. When she does release them, I expect there will be a waiting list.

One thing I deeply respect about Latia is her honesty about the limitations of her medium. Balloons and direct outdoor heat and sun do not coexist well — UV exposure causes oxidation, which makes balloons look powdery and dulled rather than crisp and vibrant. She will tell you this upfront, clearly, and without apology.
The goal for outdoor setups is shade. Covered patios, indoor reception halls, venue spaces with climate control, these are where her work truly shines. She loves doing weddings at proper venues specifically because the environment lets the design perform the way it’s meant to. The process is refreshingly simple: reach out, meet or text, share your vision and your inspiration photos and your budget, receive a quote, confirm with payment, and then show up on your wedding day to something that will make your photographer audibly gasp.
For events over $500, Latia requires a deposit or retainer to hold your date. Smaller events are paid in full upfront. Given how quickly her calendar fills — especially June — getting that deposit in is the most important step.
